This annual event honors outstanding medical students, residents and faculty from Boonshoft School of Medicine while recognizing the dedicated work of members of the Wright State University Academy of Medicine in an unforgettable evening of camaraderie and celebration. Each year, the event features luminary speakers from the field of medicine, arts or entertainment.

Keynote speaker: Amol Soin, M.D., M.B.A
Amol Soin, M.D. is triple board-certified in pain management-a distinction held by less than 1% of practicing pain physicians-and he also holds board certifications in anesthesia. After finishing high school in Beavercreek, he entered the combined 6-year BS/MD medical school through the University of Akron. He completed residency at Rush University in Chicago and went to the Cleveland Clinic for fellowship training in pain management. He published the book "Curing America: A Look Inside America's Failing Health Care System" after becoming disappointed with the fact that 40 million Americans live life without health insurance despite living in a country that boasts the world's largest economy.

In 2007, Dr. Soin founded the Ohio Pain Clinic. It has subsequently grown to four offices to serve southwestern Ohio, bringing the newest and most advanced techniques to treat pain management to his hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Soin is noted by his colleagues for his strong commitment to ethical patient care and compassion. He practices evidenced-based pain management and avoids the usage of addicting narcotic medications unless all other treatment opotions have failed. Currently, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.
